Interview recordings and consent

Interviews are recorded only when the candidate agrees. How recording works, who can watch, and what you need to do.

An interview is recorded only if the candidate agrees in the waiting room. If they decline, the interview goes ahead as normal.

What you need to do

  • Interview from your browser on the website, and keep the interview tab open until you end the call. The recording is made from your browser.
  • Check 2. Recording on your checklist to see whether this interview is being recorded.
  • When recording is on, both of you see a Recording badge on screen.

Who can watch a recording

  • The candidate.
  • You, the interviewer.
  • The company or agency that arranged the interview.
  • Grohire's team, for quality checks and interviewer training.
  • Approved Grohire interviewers, only while they score it blind for calibration.

Recordings are kept for a limited time, usually 180 days, and are erased if the candidate deletes their account.

Watch your own recording

  1. Open the interview from Today or Earnings.
  2. After you have submitted the report, click Watch the recording.

Good to know

  • A candidate can withdraw consent later. Their next interviews are then not recorded.
  • If you interview from the Grohire app, the recording covers the candidate's side only.
  • Never download, share or screen-record an interview yourself.
