Team roles and what each can do
What the placement officer, staff, heads of department and student coordinators can and cannot do.
Every login for your college has one of four roles.
Placement officer
- Can do everything, including the team, settings, billing, the placement policy and asking for the package or interview packs.
- The only role that can invite companies, send resume books, answer employer drive requests and download the roster.
Staff
- Works on the roster, invitations, placement status, documents and broadcasts.
- Runs drives: shortlists, rounds, offers and announcements.
- Runs trainings and the recruiter list, and makes parent links.
- Can see invoices and interview packs, and the settings and placement policy read-only.
- Cannot change settings, the policy or the team, ask for the package or interview packs, download the roster or invite companies.
Head of department (with the package)
- Sees only their own department: the programmes and streams set for them.
- Lands on My department. Can read students, drives, readiness, reports and trainings for their department.
- Records placement status for their students and makes parent links.
Student coordinator (with the package)
- Sees only their own department.
- Lands on Trainings and marks attendance.
- Records drive round results.
Good to know
- If someone tries something their role does not allow, they see "Only your placement officer can..." or "Your login for the placement cell does not include that".
- If the package ends, head of department and coordinator logins show one page saying the package is not active. Staff keep working.
- See Add colleagues and give them roles and The department dashboard.
