Upload your student roster
Import your students from an Excel or CSV file, which columns to include, and how to read the import report.
Your roster is the list of students the placement cell works with. Upload it once, then upload again whenever it changes.
Before you start
- Click Download a blank template on the Roster page to see the columns.
- The file must be .xlsx or .csv, up to 5 MB, with up to 5,000 students per file.
- It needs a roll number column and a name column. Common headings such as "Roll No", "Reg No" or "Student Name" are recognised.
- Add batch (the passing-out year), programme (B.Tech, MBA) and stream (CSE, Finance) so students are grouped correctly.
- You can also include mobile, email, CGPA, backlogs, 10th %, 12th %, diploma %, gap years, backlog history and gender.
Steps
- Open Roster from the menu.
- Under Upload a roster, choose your file.
- Click Upload and check.
- Read the Import report at the top of the page.
Reading the import report
- The summary shows how many rows were added, updated, already up to date, imported with a field left out, and skipped.
- Rows with a problem are listed with the row number, roll number, name and What to fix.
- Fix those rows in your file and upload it again.
Good to know
- Uploading again is safe. Students are matched on roll number and updated, never duplicated, and only the columns in your file are changed.
- The template's example rows are left out automatically.
- For students who have already signed up, the name and contact in their own account are kept.
- You can upload one file for the whole college or one per programme. The file is deleted after import.
- Next step: Invite your students.
